‘God Walks with US’: New ‘Fox News Sunday’ Host Explains How Getting Fired Made Her Better

Newly-announced “Fox News Sunday” anchor Shannon Bream took to Twitter to celebrate her most recent career move — and she shared a dose of humility that helped to get her to where she is today.

The network announced on Thursday that Bream would be the permanent replacement for the former longtime “Fox News Sunday” host, Chris Wallace, who left the show and the network last December for a contract with the short-lived streaming service CNN+. Bream, who has often shared her faith both on the air and on social media, revealed how she believed God had brought her to the right place at the right time for this new opportunity.

“Y’all, I got fired from my first tv job, by a man who told me I was the worst person he’d ever seen on tv. He also told me I’d never make it in this business. I was humiliated. I cried … a lot. I prayed … a lot. That man did me a favor,” she began a brief thread on Twitter on Saturday morning. “I had much to learn, and as I spent months getting anyone to return an email or a call I watched my tapes and got real with myself. There is always room for improvement, and believe me I needed it.”
