Post-Draft Predictions | Which NFL team is the favorite going into the 2023 season?

Are we likely to see the Jags or Lions reverse their fortunes as the Bengals did in 2022? Find out here…

The NFL Draft is officially over, meaning it is time for those grueling pre-season workouts to begin. While we wait to hear which draftees have made the cut, why not take advantage of the best NFL sports betting odds and predictions for 2023 season, alongside our latest prediction guess that highlights our early predictions on who looks set to lift the Lombardi Trophy.

This year looks as exciting as ever, with plenty of interesting draft picks, big-name trades, and free agent pick-ups already taking place. Travon Walker was the number one pick and is heading off to Jacksonville. Second, we saw Hutchinson selected for the Lions. Third, it was CB Stingley Jr who made his way to the Texans. Now, there is no doubt in our minds that these three draftees look set to make an instant impact on the game; however, it isn’t quite enough to help the Jags, Lions, or Texans to a Lombardi Trophy this time around. You can see who we have our eyes on, next.

Buffalo Bills

Alongside the likes of Diggs, Davis, and Crowder, a coup that helped towards the 483 points scored by the Bills during the season, Buffalo has acquired yet another asset in Neil Pau’u. As noted in this 2022 NFL Draft Prospect Interview with Neil Pau’u, the Bills may even look to make use of the towering presence and versatility of the rookie in the slot – could many DBs handle that smoke? We aren’t so sure. Of course, the off-season hasn’t all been about the draftees; eight-time pro bowler Von Miller has also joined the Bills, adding experience and energy to an already dominant defensive side. After going 11-6 and falling short in the playoffs, expect that fire to return and the Bills to run riot over the rest of the AFC East once again.

Kansas City Chiefs

After losing Tyrann Matthieu and Tyreek Hill to Saints and Dolphins respectively, many may have pushed the Chiefs’ hopes to the side. However, it is clear that the Chiefs are looking to the future after bringing in Western Michigan WR, Skyy Moore, and safety, Bryan Cook from Cincinnati. Both look to have huge potential and if they end up fitting in with the defensive and offensive schemes, then the Chiefs may well be crowned AFC West champions again.

LA Rams

Naturally, we cannot disregard last year’s winners. Although their selections in this year’s draft are not going to affect this list of colleges with the most no 1 picks in history, the additions made look very promising for the future. Before training camp begins, it looks like guard Logan Bruss will instantly take second place in the RG depth chart, while Kyren Williams will take third amongst the RBs. Bobby Wagner, Aaron Donald, Jalen Ramsey, Cooper Kupp, Allen Robinson II, and Matthew Stafford are just a few other names that you may have heard of!

Final Thoughts

The Bengals had a great run last year; however, it is difficult to see them outshining the star-quality found across the Bills and Chiefs again. From a defensive standpoint, the Colts also look promising after adding Stephon Gilmore and draftee Nick Cross (Safety from Maryland) to the roster. In turn, the Colts now appear more balanced, with a defense that can match the fantastic offensive line, WR coup, and wheelhouse that is Jonathan Taylor.

While the AFC has 4 standouts, the NFC looks a lot tougher to call. The Rams are of course in the running; however, the energy in this interview with 49ers guard Spencer Burfordalone shows that the 49ers plan to build on their shortened 2022 playoff journey. New Orleans has added significant knowledge and depth to their starting lineups on both sides of the ball, while the Cardinals, Packers, and Bucs look as deadly as ever. On paper, we side with the Bills; but, either way, it looks set to be an electrifying season across the NFL.
