Former President Donald Trump took to Truth Social on Wednesday to criticize Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis for allegedly being a “RINO GLOBALIST” hours after DeSantis responded to Trump’s constant attacks.
“The real Ron is a RINO GLOBALIST, who closed down Florida and even its beaches,” Trump posted. “Loved the Vaccines and wasted big money on ‘testing.’ How quickly people forget!”
Trump also criticized DeSantis’ COVID-19 response over the weekend, arguing DeSantis “unapologetically shut down Florida and its beaches.” (RELATED: EXCLUSIVE: Trump Insiders Speak Out On His Real Views About DeSantis)
DeSantis responded to Trump’s attacks during a Tuesday press briefing when the Daily Caller’s Henry Rodgers asked about the attacks.
“I roll out of bed, I have people attacking me from all angles,” DeSantis said. “If you look at the good thing about it, though, is like if you take a crisis situation like COVID, you know, the good thing about it is when you’re an elected executive, you gotta make all kinds of decisions. You gotta steer that ship, and the good thing is that the people are able to render a judgment on whether they reelect you or not.”
“That verdict has been rendered by the people of the state of Florida,” he added.
