Are Republicans Preparing to “Move on” Again?

Unless I missed it, I don’t recall any Republican in the House or Senate, not to mention any potential Republican presidential candidate or conservative media commentator, addressing two questions that I believe millions of Americans would like to have answered:

  1. If Republicans get back into power, what are they going to do about the millions of illegal aliens who are already in the country? Every sane person agrees that the flow of illegals has to be ended, but what about those who have already broken the law?

Does any Republican have the courage to state, unequivocally, that every person who is in this country illegally — regardless of race, age, or gender — should be deported immediately, regardless of when or how they got here?

  2. Second, are criminal charges going to be brought against those who made mass illegal immigration possible, starting with Joe Biden and Alejandro Mayorkas? Aiding and abetting millions of people from other countries to break U.S. immigration law is a federal crime.

I hope I’m wrong, but I have an uneasy feeling that Republicans will once again default to their age-old “move on” stance if they sweep into power in November. The Move On policy goes something like this: “It’s unrealistic to believe you can deport 2 million people, so it’s time to accept the fact that they’re already here and move on.”

Ditto with prosecuting Biden, Mayorkas & Company: “They’re out of office now, so it’s time to forget the past and move on to more important things.”

It’s precisely why the swamp never gets drained. There’s no point to winning elections if no one is held accountable for their past crimes and anti-American actions.

Democrats understand holding your enemies accountable all too well. That’s why, as soon as they took control of the levers of power in 2021, they announced they would continue to impeach an ex-president, began a crusade to throw their political enemies into solitary confinement, and started undoing all executive orders and legislation they opposed.

Republicans, take note: Democrats never move on. They relentlessly focus on punishing their enemies. Does any Republican have the courage to flatly state that he/she intends to do the same when Republicans take power?
