On Friday, Twitter owner Elon Musk stated that the parents or doctors who facilitate the sterilization of a child before they are an adult "should go to prison for life."
"Any parent or doctor who sterilizes a child before they are a consenting adult should go to prison for life," Musk wrote.
The comment came in response to a tweet from The Redheaded Libertarian, comparing Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ stance on child sex changes to a recent opinion piece posted by MSNBC.
"Governor DeSantis: you can’t sex change for your child in Florida," she tweeted, accompanied by MSNBC stating "Ron DeSantis’ desperation for power is destroying an entire state."
The piece, written by columnist Michael A. Cohen, claims that DeSantis’ moves to protect children from irreversible harm brought on by so-called "gender-affirming care," among other issues, has made Florida the "meth lab of American democracy."

In cases of phalloplasties, complications include fistulas, necrosis of the skin used to graft the penis, urethral complications, and other issues like infection and bleeding.
