Vladimir Putin, 71, 'has found new love with London-educated 'Barbie', 39, who censors internet criticism of Russian leader', Ukrainian media says

Vladimir Putin has reportedly found a new love in a London-educated woman who censors internet criticism of the Russian leader, according to Ukrainian media.

Ekaterina 'Katya' Mizulina, 39, is the dictator's 'morality guardian' as the head of Russia's Safe Internet League.

The daughter of a fanatically pro-Putin and anti-Ukrainian senator, she is seen as a web censor, seeking to blot out criticism of the dictator, especially on the war against Ukraine.

Putin is the long time partner of Olympic gold-medal winning rhythmic gymnast Alina Kabaeva, 40.

They are believed to share two or three children, and to reside in a network of palaces and official residences owned or used by the Russian president.

But social media outlets in Russia and Ukraine have seized on claims he has found a new confidante in the hardline Mizulina, daughter of Senator Elena Mizulina, 69, two years younger than Putin.

The media say they have 'become close'.

Russian human rights campaigner Olga Romanova told Ukraine's Channel 24: 'Katya Mizulina is completely to Putin's taste. This Barbie ***** [type] has always suited him very well.'

'[Putin is] 71 years old, let's not be ageist,' she said. 'In general, the man is in full bloom, why not?

'And, in fact, Katya Mizulina, after all, she is 39… Let's also not forget… she is for traditional values.

'Just like, in fact, [Putin's long time partner] Alina Kabaeva.

'[It looks like he told his press secretary] another harem [member] met me and fell in love with me.'

Ukrainian Focus media said: 'Russian insiders claim that Ekaterina Mizulina has the type of appearance that particularly attracts Vladimir Putin.'

Mizulina graduated from the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London in 2004.

She has a degree in art history and Indonesian language.

She has worked as a translator in official Russian delegations visiting China.

Her philosopher father Professor Mikhail Mizulin, 69, is a leading academic in Moscow.

Mizulina advocates censorship on the Internet, fines and other sanctions against the media and social networks.

At a meeting with students this month, she demanded - and received - an apology from a student who had questioned the need for compulsory military service.

She threatened him with Putin's draconian laws on discrediting the Russian army.
