NASCAR is reportedly saying not so fast when it comes to professional race car driver Brandon Brown’s new sponsor.

On Thursday, December 30, Brandonbilt Motorsports, Brown’s team, announced that it had struck a partnership deal with cryptocurrency meme coin LGBcoin with the approval of the governing body, which would allow the relevant logo to be displayed on Brown’s car.

“However, NASCAR officials subsequently said nothing had been approved, and the team had jumped the gun with its announcement. Teams have always had to get NASCAR approval on sponsors and paint schemes before putting a car on the track,” Racer.com reported.
