The N.C. Supreme Court rejected the state’s new congressional and legislative maps, in a 20-page ruling on Friday.

In a 4-3 decision, the court ruled that the Republican-crafted maps violated the state’s constitution.

The legislature has until February 18 to create new maps, or a trial court will have to sign off on a plan.
