Poll: 62% of Voters Believe Media Bias Has Gotten Worse
The majority of American voters still hold “fake news” in disregard. Overall, there’s a significant level of distrust in the political news they receive from the media.
According to the Rasmussen survey, 62% of likely voters believe media bias is worsening. Only 10% believe media bias is improving, while 26% indicated it has stayed the same.
52% of voters don’t trust the political news they received. By contrast, 32% trust the political news. An additional 16% are unsure.
42% revealed that they trust the corporate press’s coverage of the recent FBI raid on former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence. However, 44% don’t trust the media, and an additional 14% are unsure.
68% of Democratic voters trust what the corporate press is reporting about the FBI’s raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home. On the other hand, 70% of Republicans don’t trust the media’s coverage of the raid. Among independent voters, 45% don’t trust the media’s coverage of the FBI raid, while 36% trust the media’s coverage of the raid and 19% are unsure.
82% of all likely voters view “fake news” as a serious problem in the media, which includes 62% who believe it’s a very serious problem. Just 14% don’t believe “fake news” is a serious problem.
