Jury Finds Darrell Brooks Guilty of Murdering Six People in Waukesha Christmas Parade Attack

The jury has reached a verdict in the Waukesha Christmas parade attack trial where Darrell Brooks Jr. faces 77 criminal charges after a massacre late last year where six people were killed and dozens more were injured.

Brooks faces six counts of first-degree intentional homicide for the Christmas parade attack and faces up to six life sentences if convicted.

Brooks attempted to plead not guilty by reason of insanity after initially pleading not guilty but withdrew the insanity plea last month and asked to represent himself instead. Dorow granted the request last week, ruling that Brooks possessed “the minimal competency necessary to conduct his own defense.”
