U.S. Customs and Border Protection Seizes Massive Package of Meth at Southern Border

On October 12, 2021, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized a shipment of over 1,100 pounds of methamphetamine at an international border crossing in South Texas. Bob Price of Breitbart News observed that “The attempted smuggling incident took place at the Pharr International Bridge Cargo Facility.”

On October 9, several CBP officers tasked with patrolling an international cargo facility in Pharr, Texas, saw a tractor-trailer come by for inspection as it tried to enter the country from Mexico.

Upon searching the trailer, the officers discovered 468 packages of methamphetamine. According to the officers’ report, the drug packages weighed about 1,179.47 pounds. The street value of the meth packages was estimated to be around $16,512,400.
