Detached from Reality: MSNBC Bizarrely Pretends Retiring Justice Stephen Breyer Is 'Conservative or Moderate'

Talk about detached from reality. MSNBC on Wednesday responded to the breaking news that far-left Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer is retiring by pretending that he was a “conservative or moderate” or “pragmatic” at times. The same MSNBC that mocked Amy Coney Barrett’s faith and called her a “wolf in sheep’s clothing” was very respectful of the departing Breyer.

Anchor Andrea Mitchell bizarrely reasoned, “One thing that occurs to me is that he was rather conservative or moderate, if you will, or more nuanced than many progressives may have liked on big economic issues when they hit the Court.”

Analyst Barbara McQuade allowed that “Justice Breyer was a reliable liberal when it came to” abortion and other issues. But she parroted the idea that the deeply liberal Breyer was somehow a “pragmatist” on unnamed issues, adding, “I think that’s the way people tend to think of him. He’s someone who was out in the world. He’d worked in the Senate. He’d been an administrative law professor.”
