White House Deputy Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told a reporter on Thursday during a press briefing that President Joe Biden plans on running for reelection in 2024 with Vice President Kamala Harris on the ticket despite conflicting statements and whispers that indicate otherwise.

ABC News senior White House correspondent Mary K. Bruce asked Jean-Pierre to clarify the matter following a recent report from The Wall Street Journal where Harris was asked if Biden was running for reelection in 2024.

“She didn’t say yes,” Bruce told the press secretary. “She just said that the two of them hadn’t talked about it. Of course, you all and the President himself has said that he does plan to seek reelection. So what’s the disconnect here?”
