We haven’t heard much about COVID in recent weeks, as the war in Ukraine dominates the news, 24/7.
It’s true that cases, hospitalizations and deaths are declining, and for many Americans, the masks are coming off. But wait. Dr. Anthony Fauci told PBS “News Hour” on Thursday he wouldn’t be surprised to see a COVID resurgence here in the next few weeks — and a return to masking.
He noted that cases in the United States tend to lag those in Europe and the United Kingdom, where a “sub-lineage variant of the original omicron,” called ba.2, is spreading.
