Nikki Haley, who served as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations under President Trump, was careful on Monday to praise former Vice President Mike Pence while trying at the same time not to say something that might alienate Donald Trump.

In an interview with Fox News, Haley called Pence a “good” and “honest” man: “And you know, I hope that at the end of the day, President Trump and Mike Pence can come together and remember that we’ve got a lot of Republicans who need our help in 2022.”

Haley has been mentioned as a possible Republican presidential candidate, but she angered Trump shortly after the January 6 attack on the Capitol when she said, “We need to acknowledge he (Trump) let us down.”
