Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo weighed in Friday on the Russian invasion of Ukraine during his keynote address at the Conservative Political Action Conference.

“We’ve seen a Russian dictator now terrorize the Ukrainian people because America didn’t demonstrate the resolve that we did for the 4 years prior,” said Pompeo, a potential 2024 top-tier GOP presidential candidate with foreign policy credentials.

Pompeo said the Trump administration took the approach of former President Ronald Reagan, which was “peace through strength” and putting America first.
