'Rarest Baseball Card in the World' Shatters Records, Sells for $7.25 Million

A baseball card considered the “rarest in the world” just shattered records when it sold for millions.

The 1909-1911 T-206 card of Pittsburgh Pirates legend Honus Wagner was purchased for $7.25 million as a headline piece of Goldin Auctions, according to a Friday report.

The record price makes the Wagner card the most expensive card to be sold, the report noted.

There are less than 50 authenticated T-206 Wagner cards, according to Ken Goldin of Goldin Auctions.
