Readying for Possible GOP House Majority, Pelosi Reportedly Seeks Cushy Landing as Ambassador to Italy

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi may soon be leaving behind her home in crime-addled San Francisco for a mansion in Rome.

Even if earlier predictions of Republicans taking between 40 and 70 seats in the House of Representatives in the midterm elections are proven to be “irrational exuberance,” as Rep. Tom Cole (R-Okla.) recently put it, the GOP is nevertheless poised to reclaim a majority in the House. This won’t just mean a change in Washington power dynamics, but an ouster for Nancy Pelosi as speaker.

Pelosi is, however, looking to the future and to possible soft landings beyond American shores.

Anonymous sources told Fox News that in the event that Republicans successfully take the gavel, Pelosi wants President Joe Biden to dub her the next U.S. ambassador to Italy. The position, presently vacant, is reportedly being held for the speaker.
