U.S. Surgeon General Says 'COVID Hasn't Gone Away', 'Funding Is so Critical'

The Biden administration wants another $22.5 billion in emergency funding to prepare for new variants of the COVID-19 virus, one of which (called ba.2) is prevalent overseas and beginning to spread here.
U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy told “Fox News Sunday” with Trace Gallagher that “COVID hasn’t gone away.”
“When we look at what’s happening around the world and over the last two years, we recognize that when cases increase in one part of the world, that often leads to increases in the other part of the world. And we should be prepared that, you know, COVID hasn’t gone away. There may be rises and falls in cases in the months ahead.
