Former President Trump is suing the “crooked and highly partisan” attorney general of New York State.

His statement attests that attorney general Letitia James, whom he has dubbed ‘Peekaboo’, is abusing her power in order to “recklessly injure” him, his business, and his family.

Trump’s announcement comes after James announced a $250 million civil suit aimed at Trump, his business, and his three eldest children. The lawsuit is based upon the contention that Trump dishonestly inflated his wealth by billions in order to secure lucrative loans for the Trump Organization and to “cheat the system.”

The filing has ramifications beyond just financial penalties, however. If James were to succeed, Trump would be permanently barred from doing business in the state of New York.
