Tulsi Gabbard, the former Hawaii congresswoman who ran for president in 2020, announced Tuesday her official departure from the Democratic Party.

The announcement is not exactly surprising. As the Democratic Party moves farther left, Gabbard (and other Democrats like her) have become increasingly alienated. In fact, Gabbard is a frequent critic of President Joe Biden and Democrats.

But what is surprising is the scathing way in which she announced her departure.

In a video, Gabbard described the Democratic Party as an “elitist cabal of warmongers” bent on dividing Americans and erasing our fundamental rights.
