Major League Baseball honored “Spirit Day” on Thursday with every team in the league tweeting out an acknowledgment of the day, which exists for LGBTQ+ awareness, but two teams were roasted on Twitter for apparently omitting the meaning of Spirit Day from their message.
In the end, 28 of the 30 teams posted messages that explained the symbolic meaning of the day.
The New York Yankees, for example, wrote: “The Yankees organization is proud to join @MLB in celebration of #SpiritDay . Today, and all days, we take a stand against LGBTQ+ bullying.”
